Offered is this very nice flow blue soup plate by Trenton, NJ potters, Burgess & Campbell. The pattern name is “Royal Blue” or “Balmoral”. The plate is impressed with a lion and the maker’s name. Burgess and Campbell. Burgess and Campbell operated out the Trenton, NJ pottery from 1879-1936. This particular soup plate is pictured on page 151 of Mary Frank Gaston’s “Flow Blue China”. The soup plate measures 1“ in diameter x 1-1/16” deep. Lots of gilt and dark cobalt accents. Very good condition with only minor crazing and a few tiny glaze pops on back. |
